STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Anything happening outside the classroom involving students has a huge impact on a students high school experience, and the school community. Here is what is going on at Leadership this year.
Athletics

Leadership students are engaged in a number of different club sports after school. Our school competes in sports year round, including Cross Country, Basketball, Softball, and Soccer. Cross Country and Soccer are unisex teams, while Basketball and Softball are single gender (Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball and Softball).

Clubs

If you can dream it, we can make it happen. Clubs have been increasing yearly as more and more students come in and put their own stamp on Leadership. Standard club meeting time is Thursdays, however clubs do meet outside of that block, or more than once per week. Some of our existing clubs include:

Anime Club, Boxing Club, Games Club, Girls Who Code, Music Club, National Honors Society, Student Government

SUMMA (Syracuse University Mentor Mentee Alliance)

SUMMA is the longest running mentoring program in New York City. Students are paired with a mentor who graduated from Syracuse University who mentors them throughout their years at Leadership and beyond. Students make life-long connections here, that extend into all aspects of life. Mentors and mentees will do events together, community service, practice for interviews, dinners and much more. Students can start with SUMMA as early as freshman year.

Arts and Electives

Leadership has a long history of doing amazing work in visual and performing arts, both inside and outside the classroom. From art to theater to music, students are exposed to a host of different arts, and are encouraged to engage with them outside of class. This includes our yearly Spring Arts Show, theater performances, and concerts. Students also enjoy the arts through clubs as well, such as Art Club, Open Studio and more.

Business with Zurich and Junior Achievment

Leadership and Public Service has a long standing business tradition, both inside and outside the classroom. Zurich offers a few different Pro Skillz classes for students, including Business 101 and 201, as well as summer opportunities. Student teams have also taken part in the Junior Achievment Business Plan Competition for many years, going all the way to the city finals!
